چکیده

Experimental and theoretical studies were conducted to simultaneously study the role of particle size and gas pressure on nonlinear behavior of dust oscillations in a plasma. Oscillation spectra were experimentally obtained by using four different sized (1.5, 2, 3, and 4 mm) particles at 250 mTorr, which is high pressure compared to previously reported works. The measured results were in good agreement with theoretical calculations based on a self-consistent collisional plasma model and a parametric dust oscillation model. In addition, particle size and gas pressure dependence of force profile and oscillation spectrum was investigated by numerical calculation in order to understand the role of particle size and pressure separately. It is concluded that occurrence of the subharmonic resonance and the net trapping force profile are mainly determined by particle size while gas pressure is mostly responsible for the superharmonic resonance and hysteresis. © 2004 American Institute of Physics. Polymerization of propylene in a minireactor: Effect of polymerization conditions on particle morphology

Gas phase polymerization of propylene was carried out in a semi-batch minireactor using a commercially supported Ziegler–Natta (ZN) catalyst. The influence of variables including monomer partial pressure, external electron donor, reaction temperature and time on the particle morphology and size distribution was investigated. Generally, more uniform fragmentation and particle densities were obta...

بررسی نقش فاکتورهای آئرودینامیکی - هندسی سیکلون در حدف ذرات

Background and aims: Extensive industrial and production activities are one of the major sources of dust. In many cases, cyclones are used as the control measure. The removal efficiency of dust in cyclones depends on different factors. Some of these factors are, the design parameters, e.g. cyclone diameter, particle density, operating temperature and fluid physical properties, density of gas ...

Effect of the temperature difference between gas and organic dust on propagating spherical flames

A new analytical study performed to investigate the effect of the temperature difference between gas and particle in propagation of the spherical flames. The combustible system is containing uniformly distributed volatile fuel particles in an oxidizing gas (Air) mixture. The model includes evaporation of volatile matter of dust particles to known gaseous fuel (methane) and the single-stage reac...

Preparation of basil seed mucilage aerogels loaded with paclitaxel nanoparticles by the combination of phase inversion technique and gas antisolvent process

Objective(S): In this work, paclitaxel (PX), a promising anticancer drug, was loaded in the basil seed mucilage (BSM) aerogels by implementation of supercritical carbon dioxide (SC-CO2) technology. Then, the effects of operating conditions were studied on the PX mean particle size (MPS), particle size distribution (PSD) and drug loading efficiency (DLE). <stron...

Effect of trapped ions and nonequilibrium electron-energy distribution function on dust-particle charging in gas discharges.

Dust-particles charging in a low-pressure glow discharge was investigated theoretically. The dust-particle charge was found on the basis of a developed self-consistent model taking into account the nonequilibrium character of electron distribution function and the formation of an ionic coat composed of bound or trapped ions around the dust particle. The dust-particle charge, the radial distribu...
